Designing a PdM Program
How does Allied provide our clients with the capabilities to enable the Proactive Work Flow Model?
By optimizing the PM program and building an integrated condition based monitoring (CBM) process through a failure mode driven maintenance strategy, Allied provides the client the capabilities to identify equipment defects that can lead to unplanned downtime and/or unnecessary costs. More importantly, early defect detection provides flexibility in planning and scheduling (the heart and soul of any successful program), allowing the execution of precision work and the sustaining of a continuous improvement culture.
Integrated CBM Technologies
For over a decade, Allied Reliability has been the industry leader in providing Predictive Maintenance (PdM) solutions to our clients, utilizing a suite of CBM technologies. Although most service organizations only offer 1-2 technologies, Allied provides service capabilities and integration to identify defects in Mechanical, Electrical, and Stationary assets using an array of technologies.
Why the emphasis on multiple technologies? Almost all equipment gives early warning prior to functional failure, such as changes in lubricant wear debris, temperature, vibration, or electrical signature. These failure modes can be detected with certain CBM technologies.

The problem is that one or two technologies alone cannot detect all of the failure modes in your plant. As a result, a single-technology PdM program will miss far more faults than it catches.
The key to a successful PdM program is to make sure it is capable of detection of all failure modes for equipment that is included in the PdM inspection program. The results of your PM/PdM activities should drive your planning function. It is for this reason that it is important to apply multiple technologies to detect the majority of failure modes in your plant.
What are the benefits of the Proactive Work Flow Model?
A well-balanced PM/PdM program offers a company a unique opportunity to save millions of dollars through:
- Lower maintenance costs
- Lower spare parts inventories
- Lower energy consumption
- Better safety performance
- Improved product quality
- Increased throughput capacity
Because Allied understands the value of the Proactive Work Flow Model, and the need for Return On Asset Reliability (ROARâ„¢), we are able to form partnerships with clients and industry leading providers to deliver the integration of solutions and capabilities that our clients seek.
