Custom Housings and Transfer Systems

Allied offers custom housing and transfer systems to fit your specific needs.

Compact Filters and Strainers

From light duty to industrial applications, compact filter housings and strainers are suited for all fluid and oil applications and the designs come equipped to handle a 50-GPM flow rate and a pressure rating of 200 PSI. The simplex is composed of one filter element or strainer basket and one drawn-carbon steel housing secured to a cast iron cover with four heavy-duty bolts.

The duplex incorporates two drawn-carbon steel housings, each with one filter element or strainer basket suspended from an indestructible cast iron cover. Shells are interconnected by a dual-circuit transfer valve with the capabilities to direct continuous flow to either shell, independently or simultaneously. Filtration solutions include all-stainless steel covers, rotors, and other customizable options.

ASME-Code Filters and Strainers

The ASME-code filters and strainers are designed with a focus on safety, innovation, and quality to meet the specifications dictated by OEM-certified oil companies and engineering firms. Some standard features include:

  • Convenient swing-bolt covers for ease of maintenance
  • O-rings for a leak-free seal
  • Lifting davits provided for all covers over 85 lbs
  • Easy-to-read differential pressure gauges on all vessels 16’’ in diameter or larger
  • Heavy-duty carbon steel bodies with ductile iron or steel covers.

All pressure vessels are available in stainless steel to withstand the most corrosive environments around the world. Tailored to your requirements, our filters and strainers can be designed to meet API specifications, MIL specs, NACE, ABS, USCG, and most other engineering standards.

Zero-Leakage, Two-Way Transfer Valves with 3-Port and 6-Port Advanced Designs

The dual circuit, three-way, and six-way transfer valves are designed for assembly between filters, strainers, and heat exchangers to guarantee continuous service and positive shutoff. The operation of our zero-leakage transfer valve is much simpler than other valves; there is no risk of seating and unseating, nor are there any locking pins to lift.

The internal arrangement is free of all springs, levers, and pins that often break loose and cause severe damage to the costly equipment it was meant to protect. Handing is simple—after equalizing the pressure, rotate the handle to transfer the fluid from one vessel to the other. Available in 1-1/2, 2, 3, and 4-inch sizes, these valves feature an exclusive internal quad-ring design that eliminates side-to-side leakage even at pressures tested up to 1,000 PSI. Valves are designed and recommended for operating pressures no higher than 665 PSI. A steel body and iron rotor are standard, and stainless steel rotors or all-stainless-steel fabrication is available.

Filters and Strainer Elements

We offer innovative solutions for your liquid filtration needs. Discover our broad selection of oil and fluid filtration products.

White Stacked Disc Elements

Series 1555

Manufactured from pure virgin wood fiber, these elements combine the high flow characteristics of pleated paper elements with the exceptional dirt-holding capacities of depth-type cartridges, resulting in longer life.

Specifically designed for gas engine lube oil service and fuel oil filtration, these elements are used in oil applications where filtration to 5 microns is required.

Pleated Paper Elements

Series 1577

These superior resin-impregnated elements offer economy and versatility where 1/2, 3, 5, 10, and 25 micron filtration is required. Their outstanding flow characteristics, even at higher viscosities, resulting in more compact housings for initial cost savings.

Our pleated paper elements meet API specifications to satisfy original equipment manufacturers and the petroleum industry.

Pleated Synthetic Elements

Series 1577

Nugent pleated synthetic elements deliver Beta rated performance where absolute filtration efficiency is required. They provide Beta values to Beta 3 = 75 (98% efficient at 3 micron) and finer and meet API specifications.

The fluid compatibility range of our non-woven media is unlimited. In addition to all mineral based and synthetic oils, our synthetic elements are successfully applied in water, water/glycol, and many process fluid applications.

Absorbent Media Elements

Series 1570

Absorbent cartridges of Fuller's Earth, Activated Alumnia, Molecular Sieve, or other specialty media are uniquely suited to neutralize acids and maintain the like-new quality of many synthetic oil-based hydraulic fluids.

The convenient cartridge design makes element replacement easy, reducing the mess and bother associated with disposal. Our tightly packed cartridges of Activated Carbon effectively adsorb hydro-carbons from amine solutions and also clarify liquids other than oil.

Strainer Baskets

Series 1554

The durable, tightly woven stainless steel wire mesh provides superior strength at absolute rated filtration efficiencies.

Our strainers are typically used downstream of a pump and have a burst pressure of 150 PSID, offering your equipment unsurpassed protection. 100 mesh (140 micron), 200 mesh (74 micron) and 2140 mesh (40 micron) are our standards, although most mesh sizes are available.

Bag Elements

Series 1576

Our bag filter functions as an outstanding pre-filter or as the sole means of filtration in extremely dirty environments.

The 25 and 50 micron flannel cloth filtering media is supported by a corrugated, galvanized wire mesh, which extends the element's service life. The perforated carbon steel outer wrap ensures a burst pressure margin of safety to 70 PSID.

Pleated Water Absorbing Elements

This disposable element can reduce water to 25 ppm in oil, remove solid contamination to 10 microns, and installs easily within most existing housings. It is ideally suited to solve serious, temporary water contamination problems, or continuously filter oil as part of a bypass conditioning system.

Coalescer/Separator Elements

Series 1586

Designed specifically to continuously remove water from both lubricating and hydraulic oils, these extremely efficient elements reduce water contamination to as low as 25 ppm, making them perfect for steam turbine lube oil system applications.

Custom Housings & Transfer Systems

Compact Filters and Strainers

Allied Reliability compact filters and strainers are composed of one drawn carbon steel housing secured by four heavy-duty bolts to a cast iron cover and contain one filter element or strainer basket. Specifically designed for liquid applications with flows to 50 GPM and design pressures to 200 PSI.

The duplex is composed of two drawn carbon steel housings, including one filter element or strainer basket suspended from a common cast iron cover. The shells are interconnected by a dual-circuit transfer valve directing continuous flow to a singular shell or to both shells simultaneously. Options include steel covers, stainless steel, rotors, and all stainless steel construction.
