Planning and Scheduling Work Team Concept

Planning and Scheduling Work Team Concept

Planning and scheduling of maintenance activities is an essential element of every manufacturing facility. This presentation covers the Planning & Scheduling Work Team (PSWT) concept that is used to improve all elements of the Work Management System in your facility – Work Identification, Work Planning, Work Scheduling, Work Execution, Documenting Work History, and Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).

The PSWT is a cross-functional team consisting of members from both Maintenance and Operations. The hallmark of the process is the improved collaboration throughout the entire organization to ensure that work is identified, planned, scheduled, and executed prior to costly equipment failures.

The PSWT process focuses on reducing the Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), improving the Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and increasing the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by ensuring that the right work is done at the right time. The impact to your bottom line is substantial.
