Particulate Filtration Products
T.F. Hudgins, an Allied Reliability brand, supplies Nugent & Co. industrial replacement filters, strainer baskets, elements, custom housings, and transfer systems for demanding oil, fuel, hydraulic, and process fluid applications.
Nugent & Co is an industrial replacement parts supplier that offerings include cleanable strainer baskets, pleated paper, high-flow pleated synthetic, cotton waste, sock-type cartridges, and stacked disc paper elements. Manufactured from pure virgin wood fiber, these filters, elements, and strainers combine the high flow characteristics of pleated paper elements with the exceptional dirt-holding capacities of depth-type cartridges, resulting in longer life.
Nugent Filtration by T.F. Hudgins
Nugent & Co. filtration products are designed to help maintenance and reliability teams control contamination, protect critical equipment, and support dependable fluid system performance. T.F. Hudgins helps customers source replacement filter media, strainer elements, compact and ASME-code housings, and transfer valve solutions based on application requirements, flow, pressure, media compatibility, and service conditions.
Engineered Products
Industrial Filter Elements, Strainers, Housings, and Transfer Systems
T.F. Hudgins offers a broad range of filtration products for liquid filtration, lube oil service, fuel oil filtration, hydraulic systems, and process fluid applications.
White Stacked Disc Elements
Series 1555 elements are manufactured from pure virgin wood fiber and combine high-flow characteristics with depth-type dirt-holding capacity. They are designed for gas engine lube oil service and fuel oil filtration where filtration to 5 microns is required.
Pleated Paper Elements
Series 1577 resin-impregnated elements provide economical filtration where 1/2, 3, 5, 10, and 25 micron filtration is required. Their flow characteristics can support more compact housings and initial cost savings.
Pleated Synthetic Elements
Series 1577 pleated synthetic elements provide Beta-rated filtration performance where absolute filtration efficiency is required. They are used with mineral-based oils, synthetic oils, water, water/glycol, and many process fluids.
Absorbent Media Elements
Series 1570 cartridges use media such as Fuller’s Earth, activated alumina, molecular sieve, activated carbon, or other specialty media to neutralize acids, adsorb hydrocarbons, and help maintain fluid quality.
Strainer Baskets
Series 1554 stainless steel wire mesh baskets provide durable protection downstream of pumps. Standard mesh options include 100 mesh, 200 mesh, and 2140 mesh, with most mesh sizes available.
Bag Elements
Series 1576 bag elements can serve as pre-filters or primary filtration in dirty environments. The filtering media is supported by galvanized wire mesh and a perforated carbon steel outer wrap.
Pleated Water Absorbing Elements
These disposable elements are designed to reduce water in oil to 25 ppm, remove solid contamination to 10 microns, and install within most existing housings for temporary or continuous bypass conditioning applications.
Coalescer / Separator Elements
Series 1586 elements continuously remove water from lubricating and hydraulic oils and are suited for applications such as steam turbine lube oil systems.
Custom Housings and Transfer Systems
Compact simplex and duplex filters and strainers support liquid applications with flows to 50 GPM and design pressures to 200 PSI. ASME-code filters and strainers can be customized to meet API specifications, MIL specs, NACE, ABS, USCG, and other engineering standards. Three-port and six-port zero-leakage transfer valves are available for continuous service and positive shutoff applications, with sizes from 1-1/2 to 4 inches and designs recommended for operating pressures up to 665 PSI.
THE CHALLENGE
Contamination Control Problems Increase Equipment Risk
Oil, fuel, hydraulic, and process fluid systems are vulnerable to solid contamination, water, acid formation, and fluid degradation. When filtration is undersized, incompatible, difficult to service, or poorly matched to the application, maintenance teams may face shorter element life, recurring fluid quality issues, unplanned service interruptions, and increased risk to pumps, turbines, compressors, engines, heat exchangers, and other protected
- Solid contamination can accelerate wear and reduce component life.
- Water and acid contamination can degrade oil and hydraulic fluid performance.
- Single-vessel arrangements can make service difficult when continuous operation is required.
- Poor filter or strainer selection can restrict flow, increase maintenance burden, or leave assets underprotected.
Solutions
Filtration Products Matched to Fluid, Flow, Pressure, and Service Requirements
T.F. Hudgins helps customers select particulate filtration products that align with the operating environment, contamination risk, maintenance requirements, and system design. The right filter element, strainer basket, housing, or transfer valve can improve protection for critical equipment while supporting safer, more maintainable fluid system operation.
Reduce Unplanned Downtime
Proper filtration helps control contamination that can contribute to premature component wear, lube oil issues, hydraulic problems, and equipment damage.
Cost Reduction
Longer element life, cleanable strainer baskets, accessible housings, and service-friendly cover designs can reduce maintenance effort and help teams manage replacement activity more efficiently.
Maximize Throughput
Duplex filters, strainers, and transfer valves support continuous service by allowing flow to be directed between vessels without stopping production-critical fluid systems.
