From Jamison Products, an Allied Reliability Brand

Jamison Products, an Allied Reliability brand, provides Y strainers built for mechanical soundness, design criteria, and process performance. Y-type strainers use a perforated or wire mesh screen to capture unwanted debris such as dirt, pipe scale, and rust before it reaches downstream equipment.

Y Strainers

Jamison Products specializes in designing, manufacturing, and supplying Y strainers for pipeline products. These strainers are built to meet your specific requirements, ensuring mechanical soundness, adherence to design criteria, and optimal process performance.

Y-type strainers have many applications and can be custom-designed to fit your unique needs. Jamison Products also offers a variety of “off-the-shelf” strainers for common applications such as liquid, steam, and gas in light dirt applications.

Here’s a closer look at the strainer’s key components:

  • Body Material:
Y strainers are typically constructed from durable materials such as cast iron or stainless steel. Cast iron is a cost-effective option for lower-pressure applications, while stainless steel is ideal for high-pressure environments and applications requiring corrosion resistance.
  • Straining Element:
The heart of a Y strainer is the perforated or wire mesh straining screen. This screen captures unwanted debris, like dirt, pipe scale, or rust, preventing it from damaging downstream equipment such as pumps, meters, valves, and more. The straining screen’s mesh size is chosen based on the size of particles you want to filter out.
  • 1/2” – 24” ANSI 150# – 2500# flanges, NPT, SW, BW. Cast iron, carbon steel, bronze, stainless steel, alloy 20. 50 micron through 1” filtration.

Jamison Products can fabricate strainers with or without an ASME ‘U’ Stamp and /or PED certification.
