Compressor Valves

Compressor ValveFrom precision-crafted metal plate valves to the latest, high-performance designs with non-metallic internals, Allied Reliability offers valving solutions for any reciprocating compressor, in any type of service. Valves are designed to fit the specific environment in which they will operate and are validated using custom-designed valve dynamics simulation software. In addition, valves are three-dimensionally modeled and evaluated using Finite Element techniques to ensure mechanical integrity.


Allied Reliability provides complete support. We are able to service any make, model, or type of valve and valve associated products via our valve repair facility. We offer replacement parts such as plates, discs, rings, buttons, poppets, damper plates, spring plates, and other metallic and non-metallic components for any make, model, or type of valve at competitive prices.

Valve Restraints

Valve restraintFor improved safety, stronger valve retention, reduced fugitive emissions and more reliable sealing, Allied Reliability offers both conventional, o-ring style and “HSR” high-security valve restraints. All designs provide maximum retention with less maintenance than ordinary jack-bolt restraints. Materials are available to suit any pressures, gas media, and even corrosive applications. The Allied Reliability preferred approach to valve restraints provides reduced fugitive emissions and improved safety for personnel.

Capacity Controls

Capcity ControlCapacity controls help you improve compression efficiency, reduce power consumption and prolong driver life. We offer custom-engineered plug unloaders, finger unloaders and clearance pockets in a variety of configurations. Capacity control solutions from Allied Reliability are a viable alternative to cylinder modification or replacement, allowing more efficient operation over a wider range of conditions without the expense of new equipment. Most compressors can be retrofitted in the field and manual unloaders can be converted to pneumatic actuation.

Piston and Rider Rings

Allied Reliability provides solutions for your most demanding applications, optimizing ring geometry, features, dimensions, and materials to deliver maximum service life. Rings are designed to meet the specific operating parameters of the service in which they will be installed. The combination of design and material are critical to the life expectancy of compressor piston and rider rings. We offer materials that are suited for lubricated or non-lubricated conditions, both of which have very specific requirements for success.


The designs and materials offered by Allied Reliability have been proven in the field by decades of successful application in reciprocating compressors of all makes, models, and gases. Engineering assistance is available to determine the optimum ring for your application.

Packing Cases

Packing casesAllied Reliability offers a wide assortment of packing cases that are suitable for use at pressures ranging from vacuum to 50,000 psi environments. For lubrication, venting, purging, cooling or other custom-engineered features, we deliver proven solutions:

  • Material options for all gases and pressure conditions
  • Advanced hyper sealing components
  • Cases for non-lubricated service
  • Vented and buffered cases specially designed to reduce fugitive emissions
  • Custom-engineered packages

 

Packing cases may be combined with specially designed rings, control systems and/or secondary containment systems in high-performance engineered packages, including VORTEX® cooled packing cases, “Hyper” high-pressure sealing components, and STATIC-PAC® shutdown seals.

Rod Packing

Allied Reliability offers the most comprehensive line of sealing solutions for reciprocating equipment available anywhere. Rod packing is generally divided into four primary categories: pressure breakers, seal rings, vent seals, and wiper rings, all serving their own special role in meeting the unique demands of this highly-critical equipment. We supply packing rings in a wide array of design options, with material choices ranging from bronze and cast iron to high-performance non-metallics. We routinely custom-engineer packing with materials and designs optimized for the specific application.

Compressor Rods

Allied Reliability provides compressor piston rods for all major makes and models of compressors. Beginning with the highest-quality, mill-certified materials, rods are engineered and manufactured to perform reliably and deliver lasting value. Subject to application requirements, rods can be induction-hardened or tungsten-carbide coated to enhance wear resistance and extend run-times for both the rod and rod packing. Other coatings or surface treatments are also available.


Allied Reliability offers complete engineering and technical support. We work with you to analyze the causes of failures and develop ways to improve the overall reliability of your compression assets.

Pistons

Pistons&Rods-2Allied Reliability supplies both single-piece and segmental piston designs in a wide assortment of materials and specifications. Pistons are machined from cast-iron, aluminum or custom-specified materials.

If needed, we can custom-engineer pistons to meet specific application requirements. To assure that piston designs meet or exceed maximum load requirements, each new design is carefully analyzed using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and evaluated based on years of practical experience.

Allied Reliability makes it easy to get replacement pistons that meet or exceed OEM specifications. Our extensive database of piston drawings includes all major compressor makes, including Ariel, Chicago Pneumatic, Clark, Cooper, Energy Industries, Gardner-Denver, Ingersoll-Rand, Joy, White Superior and Worthington. Pistons can also be manufactured according to your sample.

Cylinder Liners

Allied Reliability provides both new cylinder liners, manufactured to your specifications, as well as maintenance for your existing liners. You can trust our extensive experience to guide your decision. Our repair services enhance the reliability of your cylinder liner, extending life and reducing maintenance cost. If your compressor cylinder doesn’t have a liner, that’s not a problem; in many instances, we can return the running bore of your cylinder to as-new condition and have your compressor up and running like new in no time. To ensure the integrity of our repairs, we always perform non-destructive testing of all components and perform hydrostatic testing if the repair scope dictates to further ensure mechanical reliability post-repair.
