Reliability-centered lubrication (RCL) breaks from the traditional view of lubrication as a task and focuses on how it can optimize the asset. Plants have realized lubricant selection, storage, handling, and disbursement is critical to an effective equipment maintenance strategy and extending the installation (I) to point (P) of defect interval. A properly engineered and implemented RCL program contributes to equipment uptime by minimizing the introduction of point P and early identification of defects so plenty of time is available to plan and schedule repairs.
In this talk, we’ll look at critical enablers of an RCL program.
